Lamar Medical Center was founded in 1996 under the umbrella of the Beulah Grove Community Resource Center which sought to address the social service and economic needs of communities in the 30901-zip code area. As the growing medical and behavioral health needs of the community became apparent, the Center collaborated with University Hospital to establish Lamar Medical Center, a Community Health Center, as an essential expansion of the Resource Center.
The Lamar Medical Center is a free-standing community health clinic strategically located in the heart of 桃色视频's 30901 zip code area. The Center provides affordable, consistent healthcare and benevolent services to individuals aged 18 and older, including homeless, insured, underinsured, and non-insured populations. Lamar Medical Center serves as a vital lifeline for the 30901 community and continually expands services based on local needs.
Lamar Medical Center offers a wide range of health and support services, often in collaboration with key partners, including health and wellness, comprehensive primary care, cancer screening, and patient education (hypertension, diabetes, and weight management) along with community and benevolent support (food security, clothing, senior programing, and financial assistance). The center also provides transitional care, hospital follow-up and home visit services.
Lamar Medical Center has a long history of providing learning opportunities for medical students, nurse practitioners, and physician assistant students, many from 桃色视频鈥檚 Health Science Campus including MCG. Lamar's comprehensive primary care clinical settings provide learning opportunities for MCG students to experience and participate in the delivery of care to underserved communities and populations. As an MCG FQHC/CHC Educational Affiliate, this Health Center will provide a variety of student elective and practice assessment and engagement educational opportunities under the guidance of physician members of their staff who also serve as MCG Community Clinical Faculty members.
